My name is GioVanni I bought a 1996 XJ6 around 2008 and I absolutely love my car. Its beautiful, stylish and has been reliable thus far, but I've had some issues with the key. Recently I had to pry open the battery cap and this left it loose after replacing the battery. This made the cap very loose and shaky resulting in the cap falling off numerous times without me noticing. I didn't want to glue it back on or mess with it, but I probably should have because I lost it finally

and now for the key. I lost the cap, its missing. I have no idea what to do with it. Apparently it'll cost 180+ dollars to replace the whole damn thing. I'm a college kid and don't really want to shovel all that money

is there a website that sells the shell of the key? or sells the little cap? for those not aware of what I'm talking about here is an image.
