Hi. I just bought a Jaguar XK8 Covertible-2001-86000 miles. Just had a timing chain/tensioner upgrade about 1000 miles ago. Drove it home about 70 miles. Filled it up today with premium-got home-the check engine light and reduced performance popped up. 6 blocks from the gas station as I was stopped in park showing my wife how to operate the roof. No issues appeared previous to this.
The other issue was that the sport button light won't come on and the cruise light won't turn off. Looking for any assistance you can provide. Hoping to enjoy this car for a long time Thanks

You've got the big issue out of the way with the timing chain/tensioner upgrade but the CEL is a disappointing start to XK8 ownership for you.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. If you've had the codes read you should post them there.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
