Hello, everyone.

That is not my car.

However, in a few months, I'll have something similar. I'm not dead-set on year, but I do like the 1988 one best by a hair. Yes, the pictured one is not 1988, but it's the best picture I could find of the color scheme I'm after. I currently drive a 2003 Ford Focus SE, but it's less reliable than the majority of BL cars for some reason, so I'd rather ditch it for something equally a PITA, but much more fun. I'm going to get a running yet beaten one off Craigslist, so I can still use it but it provides me with a project all the while. So yeah, hello to all of you, and hopefully you can help me out with my project-to-be.

Welcome to the forum FeralSlug! You're in for a treat. There is a wealth of information here on the forum. Read the old threads for your year & model. Odds are, someone's been there before you with the same problem. Make friends with an automotive electrician, send his kid to college, whatever it takes. The xjs's are known for electrical issues if I recall correctly. Enjoy the hunt and ultimately the ride!

I just ran into a bit of a problem. My dad is not impressed with 17mpg. He said that if I get this car I have to pay for literally everything, but if I get a cleaner-running one he'll pay for the insurance. So I'm getting a 1986 Toyota MR2 instead, but I may still lurk around for a while because I'm definitely getting the Jag sometime in the not-very-far future.

I quite like the early MR2's too, but it's def not a substitute for a Jag!!! Hope you get your XJS soon buddy.
