Hi there, new to this forums but been a long time member at other forums car related.
I'm a Jag Tech so I'll be around and try to help with some questions that the members have.
I mostly work on 97' and up cars, butonce in a while I'll get an xj6, but inthe shop we have the "old car specialists" lol! Nothing wrong with these cars but I'm really comfortable with newer cars.

Hey there jhe2003.........welcome to the forums buddy.
Always nice to have another Jag tech here. Hopefully you can help out with some of the more technical queries that come along.

Tell us a bit more about you and where you're based. Do you run a Jag yourself?

Jim

Hi guys thanks for the welcoming!, Well about me I've been a Jag tech about 2.5 years now but before that, Iattended JAGUAR PACE which is the traning school. I'm a SILVER Certified tech right now and all I need is more time and one more class course to get to GOLD. I"m in the NE Region @ Rosenthal Jaguar and we are #1 sales in the region so we see alot of business and therefore a lot of experience.

Hello! I have some questions about the suspension of a 2003 S-type V8. I want to change the springs,to lower the car,is it necessery to change the shocks too? my transmission has the sport mode too, when S mode is on the stiffness of the shocks is changing?because if so that means I can't get other shocks...or maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's stupid what i'm asking but I really don't know so I have to ask somebody..
thank you.

If you want to lower your S typethe only thing I would worry about is HID headlamps. If you have the Xenon lights you have two headlamp leveling sensors that would need to be relocated to keepthe auto leveling working properly. By the way the "S" mode is just for transmission stragedy also if you want to find if your car is equipped with adaptive dampening, open the hood and look at the shock towers,if you see a connector going into the shock shaft then you have it.

The ABS light stays on and the engine management light comes on intermittently.

I don't have the dampening system,I don't see any wires. Stupid question...how do I know if my lights are xenon lights? and I don't know if I have the autoleveling.
And what shocks are good?because comparing with the original shocks, wich are around 250$,everything is under this price
Thank you.

When you turn on your vehicle, does it goes down and come back up again!! If so, then u do have auto levelling.

Howdy. I'm Glen from Richmond, Va. Just sold my 84 XJS coupe and purchased a 92 XJS-12 Convertible with only 34K miles on it. I'll be checking in from time to time with questions, I'm sure, as I find things to modify. repair, change or replace. Click on my link to see car pix.
Hey Glen n welcome to the forum mate........shame your linky don't work though so we can't see your car mate.......check it out.

You might wanna check out the new regional section too for members in your area....Its only just set up but is lookin good. There may be Jag meets in the future too.

Good luck

Jim
