OK new here ...and want to view photos of S type "leaking plug in transmission" ..so have to make some posts.
Not new to Jags, currently own MK2, Series 2 XJ6 and S type. Restored the Mk2 in 1989 and it hasn't missed a beat...that ole XK engine takes some beating.
Current Jaguar line-up...not so sure. Look at a BMW and a Merc and you can see the lineage....Look at Jaguar and you can see a mish mash of trying ...and failing to please the punters. The current cars are probably the best styled and engineered since the demise of the E type and Mk2 (admittedly the series 1 XJ was good too) but they lack the continuity of the other prestige marques..and Jaguar don't produce a "cheap" family member like the SLK or Z4...Residuals are rubbish too...Not sure I'd be in the market for another new one.
