Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I bought my 1986 xj6 series III (4.2) two months ago and my kids and I love it. In high school my auto shop teacher had an xj6 and I fell in love with the unique body style of the car. I have wanted one ever since.
For her age she runs well. I'm the third owner (1st--5 years, 2nd-- 20 years and I) and she has been well taken care of but I'm having some starting issues and shut down issues when she is hot but I'll start a new thread for that.
So again hello to all and I'm happy to have found this community. I do like working on cars (older ones) so hopefully with some knowledge support I can bond more with my xj6 (elbow grease and sweet). After some experance maybe I can return the favor and help someone else.

Well, I had a Series 3 for 14 years. Happy tinkering ! I am sure you will find plenty of jobs to do, I did.

Welcome to the forum, I had a similar problem with my high school maths teacher.

'For her age she runs well. I'm the third owner (1st--5 years, 2nd-- 20 years and I) and she has been well taken care of but I'm having some starting issues and shut down issues when she is hot but I'll start a new thread for that.'

But managed to work something out

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com.

If you haven’t already you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for. To do this go to, User CP, Edit Signature, Add Vehicle Details and such and Save Your Signature.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Also, should you have questions related to your vehicle please post it in the section for your model year (MY) car. This way you will reach all the members that are familiar with your MY car.
