I just purchased an '01 S-Type 4.0L on ebay. This was my first ever ebay purchase and Jaguar. I'm hoping to find out that I didn't make not 1, but 2 huge mistakes.
Car has 115k miles and for it's age I think I'll end up putting a few dollars into it, but got the car for fairly cheap.

Ebay can be a wonderful tool, but just like anything it can also be a nightmare. I wish you good fortune in your purchase and suggest you head on over to the S-type section. The folks there can tell you what to look out for and help with any problems you uncover.

Welcome Nils, the 4.0 engine is also in the 97-2002 xk8/rs as well as the 98-2003 xj8/Rs, so lots of places to look for that drivetrain knowledge you'll be looking for around here.
