Hello fellow Jaguar enthusiasts. I live in the beautiful Great Pacific Northwest. My wife, Francyne, to whom I will have been married 25 years this March, 2012, works in the accounting field. I work in hazardous operations (hazwoper) in remediation and transportation (my other "car" is a 379 Peterbilt). Francyne has always been a car enthusiast, having extracted a promise earlier in our marriage to buy her an Austin-Healy. Well, she released me from that promise after determining it would never fit into or "budget". In any event, she became realistic. Six months ago, she fell in love with a 2001 British Racing Green Jaguar XJ8. Being the dutiful and loving husband, I bought it for her. The vehicle--in my estimation--is in excellent shape for a car that has almost 100,000 miles. I've purchased a new battery (which of course disabled the radio) and after the windshield wiper stopped functioning at a most inopportune time, I swapped the wiper/washer relay switches over, which corrected that problem. Surprisingly, the washer also worked in spite of the "bad" relay. Other than that, just oil changes and radiator flush and refill. I have never been a member of an organized group of car enthusiasts, but am looking forward to sharing my experiences as a Jaguar owner's husband. Thank you for welcoming me into circle.
