I have a 2006 XJ8. Recently moved to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Looking for a good mechanic, would rather not go to dealership. Took hubby's Mercedes to dealer this morning and I'm still in shock over prices. Don't want to go through that again with Jaguar.
Love my car, this is a replacement for my 99 XJ8.

Welcome to the forum ! I too, have the aluminium saloon but with a 3 litre V6, not supplied in the US, even though it is a US Ford engine. I am intrigued by your shock over Mercedes prices. NOthing too expensive, I hope. Dealer labour charges on all up-market cars tend to be high. I suppose they think we are all rich.
Welcome to the forum,
I hope someone can help, you should probably post in the regional or tech sections to get a better response.
You should also add your car details to your signature to help with future problem diagnosis.

Hello Everyone,
I have a 1985 XJS. It needs some work on a small brake and oil leak. I am in the Chicagoland area and I am looking for recommendations on someone who can perform this work and possibly assist in getting the car spiffed up a bit. I am not looking for a full refurbishing, because i do not think it needs it, but it needs to be "re-enabled".
Turns over and runs. I think the wheels and suspension might need some aid as well.

Just used to a local guys back in Birmingham, AL who
charged much less than dealers. We have only been in
VA for a month. Maybe I can find someone before
I need the jag serviced. Your right, if you have an
import, you must be rich!
