I had a V12 XJS convertible 1990 for 15yrs, just lost it to an over heat. I decided to stay with a Jag, to stay with the Mechanic I have been with for years and trust.
He recommended I look into a 95/6/7 straight six xj6l due to their reliability. I researched, and agreed with him. I ended up looking for an CJ6 R because I had always wanted one, and was lucky to find only one for sale in the US, and it was only 5 miles away!! On top of that, it was in beautiful condition, in and out, British racing green, only two owners, and 80k miles. The dealer that had it was keen to move it and I got a good price too.
I love it.
Repaired stock Alpine radio. ( Yes, I found someone familiar with Jag electronics, who can repair the radios, in Boca Raton)
Four Continental Extreme Contact DW, still new but love them so far.
Transmission springs and bushing
Two rear shocks, Bilstein OEM replacement.
I love the way this car looks and drives, (faaast), I also love the rarity, only 2000 96 r's made!
