Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
My friend dabbled with a Norton rotary for a while.
Is a picnic table a good reason to buy a car?

You should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you. When you get it.

Welcome Gerry,

If it's picnic tables you're after, better budget for a chauffeur as well - only has tables in the rear.

Good luck with the search.

Default First Jaguar!

Well I pulled the trigger today and purchased a 1997 XJ6 Vanden Plas LWB.It is all original, green with tan interior, and 52,000km(32,500miles)from new.Rustproofed when new there is absolutely no rust.Interior is like new-even the driver's seat.Your classic one little old lady driver. It has a full size spare which has never been out of the trunk with original new tire on it!
Oh yes,the picnic tables look better than our dining room table!

Hopefully picking it up Thursday evening.

Sounds like you found a good one. Be sure to get all the service history paperwork you can from the little old lady.

Enjoy it.

The bad news is this was a scam. The good news is it did not cost me money.During my "due diligence" I found a discrepancy regarding who was the real owner of this car.Too bad it was really a nice car.

Welcome Six Rotors. Sorry to learn of this scam, it did sound like a nice car.
Are there any details you can share that might help someone here who may be looking at the same car??

Shame you missed out with this one but good to hear you didn't get burned.

Keep searching. There's a picnic table out there with your name on it.

Well I finally surrendered on the picnic tables and bought a very nice 2004 S-Type 4.2.It is BRG with beige interior,no winters,no transmission oil leaks,120k kms on it.Pics to follow.
The problems I have are:
1.I cannot download the JTIS Manual.Does anyone have a simple PDF download?
2.One of the low beam headlights is out,I changed the bulb but it was not the bulb.Checked ground, fuses and wires but have found no obvious problem.Since this light is out on DRL mode and regular H/L switch mode,it could be a DRL unit problem. Is there a separate DRL unit on these cars or is it all in the General Electronics Unit(If only I could download a manual).

Worth the compromise. You can always retro fit picnic tables if you absolutely must have them!

Try the link in this thread to download JTIS:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...archive-66031/

Best way to get a quick answer to the headlight issue is to post the question in the S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum section where owners of the same model will be sure to see it.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Looks a good one.

Enjoy it from the driving seat and don't think 'picnic tables'.

Since Canada is actually a province of France can't you get the magic 'attaché case' picnic tables we have here - a bit bigger than a brief case but unfolds and unfolds to turn into a table with bench seats for four.
A must for every boot.

Yes I have one,but the plastic surface is a poor substitute for polished wood.

On a political matter,I have to object to your characterisation of "our home and native land".Remember Major General James Wolfe!

Sorry, forgot you're from the British bit.
They've started doing them here with a wood top (not burr walnut, sorry) - maybe you'll have to go to Quebec to get one !!
