Hello All, I just bought a 2004 Jaguar X-Type (3.0) with 131,000 miles! The transmission was replaced 50,000 miles ago and the car has been beautifully maintained. I am in the process of ordering and installing struts, strut mounts, strut bearings, and rear shock absorbers. The tires began "cupping/feathering" and I suspected inadequate road contact, thus all the new parts. I am hoping that joining this forum will help me if I run into any problems (which I undoubtedly will). Thanks for reading!

Brian

Welcome to the forum Brian,

A bit of a work list but you'll get plenty of information here.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-14/ to the X-Type section for help and advice.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome Bryan7533! That car will probably be nice and reliable once you get the suspension worked out. Being in Michigan, I assume you'd be able to find Ford parts at a pretty decent price.

A lot of what you'll need should cross to Ford, even if they don't show up in a direct cross reference. There are some posts here about that.

Good luck!
