New Member from Australia with a Mark VII
G'day everyone,
I'm new to this forum and new to Jaguar ownership. I placed a deposit on a lovely Mark VII saloon this weekend, I pick her up this coming Friday.
I've been into classic British vehicles since I was a teenager and have owned several Morris Minors from a completely original 1949 Lowlight with a side valve engine, to a '59 with an Austin-Healey Sprite engine and five speed gearbox. I still have a couple of Morrises in sheds that may see the road again one day.
I owned a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow for a brief time, a lovely car but very demanding and our particular example needed more work done on her that I could afford so I let her go. I also have a 1938 Wolseley 14/60 that I was going to build/modify (it's a bit of a basket case) but work and family demands have meant I haven't been able to allocate the required time to the project.
So I went hunting for a restored vehicle I can enjoy immediately and continue maintaining - and as luck would have it a Mark VII came up at the right time.
I'll post more about the Mark VII and some photos soon.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Here are some photos of our new Jaguar (click the thumbnails for larger versions):

The vehicle has over 20 years of log books detailing everything from windscreen wiper changes to engine rebuilds and also includes over 50 years of owner history. I will be its 8th custodian.
It came with a veritable mountain of paperwork, including an original owner's manual and even all the original new delivery paperwork detailing things like the windscreen washer system and stuff!
It has travelled around 90,000 miles in 58 years and is in very good condition, not concourse but quite presentable. I can't wait to pick it up on Friday. :-)
I managed to secure a second Mark VIIM unrestored in the deal also.
I'm looking forward to exploring this forum, online forums are a great adjunct to the whole car hobby.
Cheers,
Andrew.
