New member from Dallas
My name is Merle Whitcher, nickname "Casey". I live in a Dallas suburb just north of DFW airport. I am retired from the railroad, but I did mechanic work as a sideline for many years. I have pretty much always done all of my own mechanical work.
My problem is that I haven't been able to keep up with all of the new technology and it is now getting harder for me physically to work on cars.
I drive a Hyundai Elantra and an F150 extended cab. My wife has an 02 Jaguar X-Type that she dearly loves.
It has a 2.5 liter V6 with leather interior. It is a nice car, but parts are expensive.
I am in the process of trying to figure out the headlights on this car, and thus my reason for joining this forum. So far I am very impressed with the friendliness and speed of responses. Everyone seems to be very knowledgable, or will tell you to refer to someone else.

Welcome neighbor. Yes, these forums are great. Its amazing the amount of information to be found here. I've been following the X308 section daily for several months and its kind of like hanging around a Jaguar repair shop. We've got some senior technicians, some apprentices and some little boys like me always under foot, but eager to learn.
