Hi,
Just bought a 1999 XK8 convertible. 1 owner from new, garage stored, never used in winter or rain. 14,000 miles from new to use as summer fun car. Previously owned XJS V12 convertible.

Welcome to the forum Deetee,

Congratulations on the XK8 - that's some find.
I see you've already posted in XK8/XKR tec section so no need to give you a link to it.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the welcome and the warning. I have already been in touch with David Marks about them as the elderly owner knew nothing about these and they haven't been changed! Hoping they'll survive a gentle drive from Somerset to David Marks in Nottingham. Would have previously had a go myself, but MS (multiple sclerosis) has put paid to such fun.
The XK8 has been bought as my 'last' fun car as don't think I'll be able to drive for very much longer. So, very much looking forward to having the tensioners replaced so I don;t have to worry about driving it. At the mo, it's safely tucked-up in the garage, but when the dryer weather arrives, I will take some photographs and post them.
Happy Christmas
David
