Just joined the forum. I have just traded in my 1997 XK8 coupe for a XK8 3.2 Excecutive. I live in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Any Jag enthusiasts around here?

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
I'd have thought Harrogate would be teeming with Jags, maybe not so many enthisasts though.
3.2? shouldn't that be a 4.2?

You should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome Robert,

XK8 to XJ8 - the family must be growing.

You should find there's several XJ8 owners here from the North of England even if not exactly in Harrogate.

Smile XK8 to XJ8 reason for change

Thanks for the welcome. XK8 to XJ8 is not because of a growing family I'm afraid - rather growing old! My wife complained that the XK8 was "Too fast!" "Too low to get in and out of" "Too young a car for an old codger like me to be seen driving!"

She likes the XJ8. Well I do too - it is a lovely serene drive (Well when she's in it with me) and I can blast away with a nice kick-down when I'm solo.

Robert,

.........and you can even use the kick-down now the A1(M) is finally finished! The 30 miles of 50mph camera controlled roadworks south of Leaming Bar has been driving me mad for the last couple of years.

Smile A1 roadworks finished

Well now Graham that's good news to hear. All I need now is a nice sunny weekend day and Harrogate to Richmond, via the A1, is a nice run out.
Seems as if those 50mph zones have been in place 20 years!
Robert
