Hi, I've just joined the forum having been searching the net to solve a problem in identifying electrical wires.
I have a 2006 S Type 2.7 D with S Type R body kit. I am fitting Daylight Running Lights but have had problems identifying a 12v ignition fed power source in the engine bay. None of the spare fuse positions in the engine bay fuse box are ignition fed, they are all live without ignition being on. Only ignition fed wires I can find are Approx 5v not 12v. Any idea of location and colour of wires to check?

Thanks Steve in France,
The electrical diagrams were most useful.

The Front Power Distribution Fuse Box on the RH side of the engine bay is fed with a white and green wire which is 12v ignition fed. There are also green and blue wires in this area which are 12v ignition fed.

It is easy to unclip the plastic fuse box and lift clear to expose the wires underneath. I connected to a white and green wire in the loom close to the wing which enters the fuse box.

The daylight running lights work fine. On when ignition is on / off when ignition is turned off. There is a delay off about 3 secs as the voltage slowly reduces to 0v when the ignition is turned off.

Hope this is useful to other forum members.
