New Member-here's "me"
Our '04 XJ8 sedan now has 100K miles, and a few maintenance things are coming up. Soon I intend to have new front rotors and pads front/rear installed. Does anyone has experience with replacement pads that are less prone to dusting than the OEMs?
I am one offew XJ8 owners who stills changes his own oil (Castrol Syntech 5-30W, Fram PH5618 filters), which I do around each 5K miles. I rather enjoy this task, plus I can't stand the notion of paying someone$100 to do something I can do on my own time in less than an hour.
In general, we like this Jag, but must concede it is pretty much "soul-less" compared to our earlier Jags, and it does not compare in terms of quality of materials with our previous 740iL or our current M-B CLK 320. For sure, we love the gas mileage (24 city/31+hwy, no problem) and its agility, even when fully loaded with people and stuff. Plus, the NAV system is superb-great user interface, nice screen size, but a little hard to see during daylight hours-perhaps they should have recessed the unita bit into the dash.
Reliability has been very good. But dealer service support in both Ohio and Florida has been only average at best.
The sales folks are very anxious to sell me a new Jag...call frequently to say "hi". Too bad the service folks don't act the same way.

Hey relinuca n welcome to the forum.
Not sure bout the XJ8 but there's been plenty of us in the X section have upgraded using EBC Redstuff ceramic pads which have increased stopping power whilst cutting brake dust.
Good luck
Jim
