Hello I'm Craig from Santa Monica California and would like some advice on my 1991 XJ6 Vandenplause. I would start the car on occasion with no problems or hints of.One day I tried to start car but no start, cranks and on occasion while cranking tries to start. When i spray quick start into throttle body it fires right away and dies when quick start depleted. Lost factory alarm remote before this problem and disconected siren before this problem as well, car started in this condition for years. I changed out the relays and such, put in a fully charged battey, no change no start without quick start. Any advice on this problem would greatly be appreciated,this is a car thats been in the family since new, has a 148,000 miles and i drove it when it had 60 miles. This is a Special car to me. Craig.

Anyone have advice on how to disable the alarm without the remote as well? I have ignition key of course.

I'm not much help on that vintage but, since it'll run on ether, obviously you're not getting fuel.

A fuel pressure test is in order.
