Just dropped in to say hi, without going all autobiographical, names Davie, live near DC, moved here a couple of years ago from Scotland. Got my heart set on a black on black x-type and just about to pull the trigger.
Viewed a few so far, still looking for perfection, aiming around '05-'07.
Searched around a little and im pretty much up to speed on what to look for, any more help is always welcomed though.

Hopefully i will have a vehicle to display soon.

Thanks
Davie

HI welcome..
you need to get your Jag... (hahahaah.. being a devil here... )
i also recently purchase an 05 STR... i love the car.. too bad its black.. (dont get black.. they tend to get dirty easily, especially when you live in MD and they have a lot of snow or salt on the road)

buy the car and post the pictures..
take care.

No sir! This is the place to be appropriately welcomed as a newbie. Cadillac was just letting you know that until you have stories/questions/photos/moments of pride/moments of anguish/etc. to share in a specific, model-related forum, the ones he noted are good fun.

Cruising the X-type forum will also get you familiar with the types of things other owners are sounding off about, for better or for worse. You'll learn more than you ever dreamed - some really knowledgeable folks here.

Anyway, welcome aboard and good hunting. Hope you find a creampuff.

Welcome Davie. '05 - '07 MYs shouldn't give you too much problem. Glad you are taking your time to make sure you are getting just the right one.

Thanks for all the welcomes,

Holding out at the moment in the hope of a black with alcantara, seem to be very thin on the ground, anybody on the board have one of these rare beasties?

Personally, I wouldn't buy an X-Type as it will only lead you to buy more Jaguars. I made that mistake. I was forced to dump the wife's Legacy GT as it simply made me sick to drive it after getting out of the X. Now she drives the X most days and when I need a car the XJR is usually in the driveway. Welcome and drive as many as you can before pulling the trigger.
