Default New member, new project car!

Hi everyone,
New member here and I just got my first Jag. It has a few issues so I got it dirt cheap, now I'm just hoping to get all the issues figured out. The car is a '99 Vanden Plas with 100K on it. I only paid $1200 for it but here is the list of issues ahead of me:

Low coolant/Restricted performance messages

Starts and idles good but doesn't drive well. Sluggish and surges.

Showing codes: P0171, P0174, P0300, P1316, and P1000pd

I plan to tackle these as soon as I can get the darn hood open! The driver's side won't pop. I can hear the cable activating the latch so there must be something broken at the latch mechanism. I have done some searching and found that you can drill a 1" hole in the fender and access it that way but I did according to said measurements and only managed to drill through a brake line on the back side (add that to the list of things to fix!) and still can't access the hood latch. Wish me luck!

Default Thanks

Thanks! I added the car details to the signature - hope I did it right. Anyway, I was able to get the hood open finally. Turns out the cables/latch were fine but the hood was tweaked and in a bind on that corner. I was able to use some plastic shims that I had (for installing doors in houses) and pry the hood forwards while pulling the lever. Time for the fun to begin!
