NEW Member.. XKR Snow?
Im looking at a 2007 or 2008 XKR. Has anyone tried to drive them all year round in the snow? I have a Lotus Elise im selling and looking for something fun I can drive all year. The Elise is listed on ebay now. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Eagletime,
Be interesting to see the advice and opinions that come back to this question in the XK/XKR section.
Hope the responses are positive and you end up with the XKR.

Welcome to this friendly Forum. The XKR is fine in snow. I'd had mine three days and hit solid black ice joining a motorway. There was a lot of grunting from the traction control and she sorted herself before I'd had time to put on opposite lock. A lesser car would have spun.
I wouldn't fancy deep snow though.

im assuming the XKR will be running summer tires.....
by any means, DO NOT drive around in snow with summer tires on. get yourself a set of dedicated winter tires. I see you live in Illinois, i assume you guys get a nice load of snow every year. For a piece of mind, spend a couple hundred and get some winter tires and call it a day

Hi Eagletime:
Welcome to the forum and greetings from the Midwest Region. Did you end up getting the Jag? I'm scheduled to put on my snow tires next week or so. But since we don't (yet!) have snow, I've got a little more time...
