New S-Type Owner
I have been lurking around here for the last month trying to decide if a Jaguar is right for my wife and I. I’ve learned quite a bit (thank you) and despite all the warning threads we jumped in with both feet.
We purchased a 2007 porcelain S-Type R with 6500 miles on the clock.
The car was in Denver so we flew from Orange County, CA to Denver and drove the car 17 hours back home. It was a fantastic trip for my wife and I. With our busy schedules, it was nice to slow things down and reconnect. Anyway, back to the Jag…
You all have been holding out on the rest of us. This car is incredible. I have owned 2 Corvettes, an Acura TL-S and driven multiple Toyotas/Lexus. For me, the Jag has the best balance of handling vs. ride of any car I’ve been in. Also, the British sure know how to put together an interior. It has the 2 tone dove/charcoal seats with the best feeling leather around.
Running at 80 to 85 mph most of the way, the Jag rewarded us with 24 miles per gallon. Not bad for a supercharged car.
I read mixed reviews about the nav system. I found it to be very easy to work with once you get a feel for the logic behind how the buttons are laid out.
I did find filters a little hard to find at the local parts house. This was quickly remedied with a trip to the dealer. Which brings me to my first lesson, plan ahead and order filters online to save a bundle.
I hope to be with this car (and the forum) for a long time.

Well my friend, you can now say goodbye to your wife because she will definitely have an affair - with the Jag!! But she'll be back for your help when its time for an oil change....or air filter....or did you get one of those million-mile warranty filters??
But on a serious note, welcome, and that's a sharp looking ride!
