New VA S-Type R owner!
Hi guys! Been registered for a few months now, but finally got the Jag I had been searching for a week or so ago! It's a 2007 S-Type R with the luxury package (which adds the chrome and wood from the 4.2 back on, along with the rear window shade). It also has adaptive cruise (which is pretty damn cool I must say).
The luxury package R actually ended up being a perfect compromise...my wife loves the chrome and the wood from the 4.2, and I wanted an R. So, best of both worlds
As some background, I've had the Jag bug for a while now. It was made worse by the fact that my wife's dad has a 1962 Mark X Jag in show condition. When my dad bought a 2007 XJR recently, it pretty much sealed the deal for me. So, I'm pretty excited and love the car so far.
It has been into the shop once already for a failed auto-leveling motor on the drivers side HID (not something you really notice test driving in the daytime). This, of course, caused much amusement for my non-Jag owning friends...but frankly, it was covered under warranty, and I came into this car knowing it would be more work than your average Japanese car (mainly through a lot of research on this forum). So, they can say what they want, but this gorgeous beast is worth the effort

Thanks guys! I'm definitely really happy with the car, and glad to be joining the Jag community!
I'll try and get some pics of my father-in-law's '62 Mark X up sometime soon. That car is in gorgeous condition.

That's a real sweet ride... And BTW it is SUPER rare! I think the only other trim that is rarer in the US is the sport interior with the aluminum accents that replace the wood. Enjoy and welcome aboard from the S Type production nerd.
You'll get that as you get to know us......

Thanks again for all the kind words guys! As for the car being rare, I definitely have never seen another one with the luxury package...but didn't really think about it being a rare version of an already rare car.
Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to many years of Jag ownership.
