New XJ8 owner
Welcome! Hope your XJ8 experience is as great as mine has been. As a new Forum member, please note the it is trememdously helpful to anyone seeking to help if your Jag description appears as a footnote to your posts. (Look at some examples, then enter yours.)
My 02 XJ8 VDP has been a dream car these past 4 years. Consistent maintenance is the key; it simply must not be neglected, and it isn't cheap! Try to find a reputable, accessable independent Jag mechanic as soon as you can. Remember, the really good ones will never be 'cheap' but their advice and counsel can be invaluable.
A note about this Forum. Lots of marvelous, knowledgeable people eager to help you. You can learn much just by sampling the posts. Just remember that there is a built-in bias in what you read: most people don't post unless they have a problem. So mostly you are reading about problems. But these Jags aren't really lemons; they are, in fact, GREAT cars! But don't be mislead; owning and maintaining them is more expensive (but no more than for a BMW, Mercedes, etc.)
