Just bot a very nice 2000 XJ8.

A little nervous at first given the reliability and repair cost concerns, but I am now certain I found a good new toy. It has just over 105k miles. The trans was replaced at 65,000 miles and it otherwise appears to be well maintained.

I plan to do the simple maintenance items as I go through it - K&N filter, new plugs (any specific suggestions are appreciated), Royal Purple oil change, etc. Since the trans only has about 35k on it, I may have the fluid flushed to keep things smooth.

I look forward to sharing my learnings as well!

Congratulations on your XJ in our common state of TN. Right now, we're both newbies to Jag Forum, which I found looking for solutions to our recent '03 XK purchase. We also have '86 XJ and '07 XJ, so getting a crowded garage. We both have a lot to learn.
