I live on Grand Island, an island in the Niagara River about 3 miles UPSTREAM from the Niagara Falls. I have been lurking on the forum for about a month gathering information on XK’s. A couple of months ago my wife and I went to a local jazz festival, and she spotted a Roman Bronze XK8. She loved the car, and I began searching for one. While looking I discovered the Platinum Silver color. From there on my search was for this color. Further research about pre-2003 lead me to pursue the 2003 MY. After placing deposits on an XK8 in Springfield and an XKR in Dallas, I ended up purchasing an XKR in DC yesterday. It is Platinum Silver with the Dove gray interior and has the Montreal wheels, Adaptive Cruise Control, and has only 29,000 miles on it after driving it home yesterday.
I have owned sports cars most of my adult life – a 1967 Austin Healy 3000, a bug-eye Sprite and a 1967 Sprite, four C4 (1984, 1985, 1989, and 1990) Corvettes, and a 1990 Miata, and the XKR is by far the best!
Hopefully, at some point, I will be able to access the Photo Gallery and some of the other blocked links!!!
