Default Newby from the Magnolia State

Hello all,
Checking in from the sweltering hellhole of east-central Mississippi (Meridian area). We had an unnaturally cold and extended winter, but a very pleasant spring ... both days of it!

Though I've owned quite a bit of British machinery in the past (a brace of MGA roadsters, a Triumph TR4A and quite a few '50s & '60s Triumph motorcycles), I'm a first-timer to Jag-u-wers.

A couple days ago I bought a used and abused '90 XJ40 Sovereign off Craigslist for a nominal sum. Haven't got to fiddle with it much, but was pleased (and amazed) to find all the electrical accessories in good order.

The car is still a non-runner, so I'm sure some horrors await me.

To paraphrase Joe Friday in the old "Dragnet" TV series:
"I'm here for the tech, Maam .... just the tech."

Was it something I said ...?
Did my deodorant fail .....??
Oh wait .... that's right, most of you folks have jobs (and probably a life!)
In the squeaky voice of Gilda Radner doing the news commentary on the old SNL shows:
"Never mind ....!)

Welcome retromotor, nice intro, looks like you have already jumped right in. Sorry for the delay, we are having a bit of a thunderstorm right now and lost power;-(

Well, you know what they say:
"If you actually remember the '60s, you probably weren't there....!!"

Hiya Richard,

Thanks for the welcome. No prob on the jumpin' right in .... I can be accused of many things, but being shy isn't one of them!

I hear ya on the T-storm. We had a couple fairly violent ones a few days back. Only damage was a chunk of dead limb putting a nifty 6" dimple in the top of my 1950 Chevy sedan project .... grrrrr!!!
