Not quite new member from Richmond, VA
For thirty to forty years, I told my children that I was going to get a "British Racing Green Jaguar Convertible". "Oh yeah, Dad, sure thing!"
Anyway, just four years ago, it all fit together. A 2005 BRG XK8 convertible with the right mileage at the right price was available at a dealer not too far away from my home in Richmond, VA.
I bought it on New Year's Eve 2008. (I think the dealer had a year end sales goal in mind.) The car had 27,000 miles, and now it has 65,000 miles. That includes trips to Florida, Texas, Chicago, etc.
I have not had any problems other than two incidents of people bumping into my beautiful car. I am fortunate to have an excellent independent mechanic who keeps me informed about any maintenane that needs to be done.
I couldn't be more pleased, and my children are impressed too. One daughter has even enjoyed borrowing my beautiful car for special occasions.

Welcome to the forum WGS,
Not many can write 'not had any problems' after four years with a Jaguar. Good to hear that a purchase so many years in the planning has worked out so well.
I hope you continue to enjoy the XK8 and the forum for many years to come.

Welcome, fellow Richmonder! You sound like an awesome dad to let your daughter drive such a beautiful car! I'm located near the airport in Richmond with a '76 XJ12 with a 350 sbc conversion. I've always loved those XK8 verts! One of the car dealers we do work for at our shop brought one in one time and I loved staring at it the entire time it was here lol My '76 isn't roadworthy yet but if one day you are driving around Richmond and see my yellow XJ12 riding around feel free to say hi!
Hey there, welcome aboard....... good to have you here with us here at Jaguarforums WGS
