Default Obligatory Howdy Thread

Howdy,

I've been lurking for a good week now reading stuff in the X350 section. I've wanted an 04-07 XJR (love the 08-09 nose but hate the gills with a passion) in BRG or JRG for years. Started out with a Supercharged Regal GS when I graduated college that was great fun and lasted me long enough to blow the transmission once and me to get almost 75k miles out of it on top of the 63k on it when I bought it. I then upgraded to a rare dark green Lincoln LS V6 which I've enjoyed for almost 2.5 yrs now. The problem is I don't know how many times I've heard "how do you like your LS" to quickly be followed by "I loved mine till it started breaking down all the time" I'm still under 100k miles on it but with a baby on the way and that nagging want of an XJR the wife and I started casually looking and after 2 months of trying to even find one to test drive to find out if we even liked it; an 06 in JRG popped up in town at a Jag lease turn in dealer. 53k miles so it's not low mileage but it's nice.

What I love most about the XJR is that it manages to have ~175hp more than my LS while weighing less, getting only 2-3mpg worse gas mileage, and be a ton more luxurious and spacious. The only down side is that is considerably more expensive to insure (small price to pay for such staggering good looks and performance).

We're looking at how much to offer on it now because after the test drive we're hooked.

Look forward to hanging out because if nothing else I'm a motorhead and am constantly looking for a Jag V12 just to tinker with and I'm always tempted by a 4.2L I6 in the pull a part.

See you around,

Welcome to the forums, Sleeper!! I hope you're able to score your XJR, and eventually a V12 (I have a 76 XJ12...but without the problematic V-12).

Welcome to the forum.... I too am looking at a XJR, casually. An 05 with 41K. Don't know if I'll get it. I wish you luck with the one you're looking at.
