Post Perhaps an old one

Hi every one
I just found a beautiful 75’ XJ6L, 4,2 l engine. BUT, before I bought it and realize a teen dream, I’m searching for caution points. I don’t want a nightmare.
Does anyone could help me here?

A 35 year old Jag certainly has nightmare potential. Even a better example with need some love and attention....but a well-loved Jag can be very rewarding.

Without more details on the car (and what you are expecting) it's hard to comment much further :-)

Cheers

If the price is right and you lust for this car GO FOR IT! If you don't you will always regret it.

If your "Yesterday's Dream" turns into "Tomorrow's Nightmare" you can always sell it to someone else to feed their dreams. You may even make a profit on the deal.

I don't have specific experience or knowledge of the 1975 XJ6L but it is a "Classic". Maybe others can provide better input. Let us know what you decide to do.

Bonne Chance Ami!!!

Salut Pascal. First off does it run?

Over here I find that prices for old Jaguars are generally ridiculously high compared with the UK. You don't indicate price.

Rust would be something to look for,' everywhere'.

For better advice on this car, post over in the XJ6 section, just make sure to check the year, and include model and year in the title. There are some great guys, who will be able to give more info.

Default Thanks all

Thanks to all for your advices and enthusiasm. Those jag costs (for its sale price) less than 7000 euro. I'll show it to a French specialist asap (a guy whose girl was with my son at school)
