Possible Tenth Jaguar -- Help!
My name is Jim and I'm a Jagaholic!
I've owned 9 Jags going back to my first in 1963: a 1955 XK140MC DHC that I convinced my parents to buy for me (I was 17 at the time and unable to have a car titled to me) when I promised them I would work off the $1,200 loan for the Jag.
The succesion of Jags that followed include two E Types (the OTS was the 275th one built) a Mark VII Saloon, a second XK140 DHC, two XJ6Cs, an early XJ6, and a 3 1/2 Litre DHC. I've done much of my own work in the past, rebuilding the E Type OTS engine and carbs and the lower end of the first XK140 along with lots of other fixes. My ability to "get out and get under" is greatly reduced now however.
I've been Jag-less for quite a few years and thought I had kicked the habit, but my 17-year-old son found a 1994 XJ6 and, unless I come to my senses before tomorrow, we'll probably it. If there is work to be done, he'll provide the muscle and I'll consult and provide the tools.
Are there any particular squawks that are common to the 1994 XJ6?

Welcome to the Forum, you have certainly had some great Jaguars.
You will find great help in the XJ40 and X300 forums.
The only major downside I can foresee is that your 17-year-old son will find every excuse known to man to keep you from needing to use the car.

Cadillac,
I bought my Mark VII for $250.00 while I was in college. It was repainted white over the original grey with a somewhat shabby grey interior. It was stick and had the 3.4L DOHC 6-cylinder engine and was a great car until the rear axle sheared and it was vandalized as it sat by the side of the road in Columbia, MO. I still have the title to her.
BTW, I currently own a 1990 Allante and an '07 STS, along with an '05 Jeep Liberty..

The XJ6 I was considering was in very good shape body-wise, but it would not start and the interior was in sad shape. So, I had to pass. It looks as though I won't be getting my tenth Jag after all.
