Proud new owner of a '76 XJ6C
Hello, just bought my first vintage Jaguar-- a completely original, never painted or modified '76 XJ6C in Sable with biscuit interior. It is being shipped to me this weekend from the Pacific Northwest.
As a 5-6 year old boy, I remember riding in my Dad's 5 year old '74 XJ6, and I've always thought them to be extremely beautiful cars. We restored a '66 MK2 3.8 sedan when I was college, and my Wife and I drove it to our wedding reception with the Best Man and Maid of Honor. I've grown up working on British cars, and sometimes even enjoying driving them. I'm currently doing a frame off restoration on my first car, a '67 Triumph TR4A IRS with OD that I bought for $500 from the original owner in 1987.
A couple of things I'd like to do to the Jag-- I really want to put Euro all-chrome bumpers on it, and it's currently running on Weber DGV carbs that I don't like the look of. I'd either put original ZS carbs on it, or ideally some kind of triple carb setup for better perfromance. Other than that, it needs the original wheels and tires put back on (included with the car), as the PO installed alloy XJS wheels on it.
Looking forward to seeing it in my garage, and playing with it this winter in between welding sheetmetal into my Triumph.

Welcome to the forum SableXJ6C,
You have the one Jaguar I always wanted but couldn't afford at the time.
Euro chrome bumpers will probably take some finding on this side of the Atlantic but look so much better than the oversized rubber ones fitted for the US and Canadian market.
