I don't think you would regret if you buy one of those . Blowing turbos are not particular with X Type but beware transfer case .If you post your questions using X Type Forum you should find lots of correct answers from X Typers

Transfer case is a common problem but hey as far as I know you will have a manual gear box being a diesel so you might be in safe
Almost all the AWD and RWD X Types suffer this problem . I am not an X Type Owner that's why I don't wanna lead you wrong way as to transfer case is a problem for auto or manual tranny

I'm no expert on diesels as they're not available in the US, but have worked on a lot of petrol X-Types. To my knowledge, diesels are all 2WD which eliminates the transfer case. Petrols, all of which are AWD here in the states have a transfer case weakness and, yes, I've replaced a few of them.

The diesel like the gasoline, as I recall, are all chain driven valve trains with vitually no maintenance.

Best to get on the X-Type forum as there are other quirks with which you might want to become familiar. I believe there are some posts in the past that list the "look fors", just separate the diesels from the petrols as they're different enough to need separate comparisons.
