Default Should I buy!

Hi Folks

As a new member, first time contemplating purchasing a Jaguar, I have a question. I am on the 'verge' of buying a Jaguar 2.1ltr X Type V6SE Petrol 2002 (02Reg) with 48,000miles. The car is in excellent condition, well looked after with full service history.
I would appreciate any help and assistance from experienced Jaguar owners. Thanks. Keith.

Welcome to the forum Twohats, I'm sure that if you look through the X Type section you will find tons of information, maybe too much at this stage.

Why not have a look in the X Type FAQ?

FSH is good.

Welcome to the forum Keith,

I second that advice, shoot over to the X forum and find out what you need to look out for.

Hey Keith welcome to the site, good to have you here with us

Please check out the X type FAQ quick link thread for loads on the X type. Not too much info on the 2.1 petrol though although I believe its a cruiser, obviously not built for speed and reasonable fuel economy.
Obviously it'll be FWD as the 2.5 & 3.0 are AWD.....perhaps a 2.5 or maybe a 2.0d version might suit better?

Its a pretty easy going n friendly place to be especially if you're a Jag owner / lover but all car enthusiasts are welcome.

Some top guys here with plenty of good info and excellent techs.......
I've manually upgraded you to full forum access.....jump in and enjoy

Smile Thanks

I would like to thank those members for the friendly welcome to the forums and the kind advice regarding purchase of the car.
Took it on a test drive yesterday and was impressed with the performance and ride. I have also carried out an online veh check with the DVLA which pointed out that the car underwent a complete change of colour (respray) in 2007. Used to be green, now blue! The dealer denied any knowledge of this fact. It has got me wondering if the change of colour was to hide anything or just the whim of the owner at that time. It is certainly a professional job. It has had two previous owners since registration in Nov 2002.
It has put me off somewhat however there are plenty of cars out there.
Thanks again.

Keith
