Have a '03 X-type I bought new. My wife is primary driver. In Dec '06 I became the 3rd owner of a 39,000 mile '98 XK8 conv. From reading forums such as this I had the timing chain tensionors replaced just before they broke. Very lucky move on my part. Started having problem with auto steering column. With the entering of the ignition key the column will extend to the programed position but will not tilt down. Manually trying to tilt, column it moves fractions of an inch at each push of the button until it is 1/2 waydown then it moves fine to the programed position.This problem seemed to start as the weather got colder. Have tried reprogramming memory a couple of times, no luck. Any ideas?
