Default Welcome to the forum - oh, that's your line!

Hi all. Well I found this forum in order to research the purchase of an XK8 coupe and have found a lot of great enthusiasts after reading for a few hours. I live in the Midwest - Kansas City area to be more precise. I travel about 20k a year for work and thought a new car would be the ticket but the depreciation is so high and the government is so tough on small business taxes that a nice 03-06 XK8 coupe would be just the ticket until I started reading the threads. This is not uncommon as I am on a few motorcycle threads and you hear similar stories there as well. Any way, this will be my second Jag as my first was a beautiful 83 XJ6 that was perfect when I bought 25 years ago. I loved that car. It had been doctor owned and no one had ever sat in the bike. Only the drivers seat had wear and the body was ding free. So now, I have fully jumped in the deep end of the pool and have joined the ranks of the self-employed once again. My hope is that this will be the begining of a wonderful relationship with that perfect coupe. y the way, the current issue of Jaguar World Dec 2010 has the XKR super guide and all of the history but I bet you already knew that!

This is a great forum from the time I have spent on it. There is absolutely no " I am better than you" attitudes. It should not matter how much you have. But rather how much you are moved by your passion. I just love that. Like many people i have made a lot and spent a lot. Kids will do that, but they have all turned out great! Now for a little me time for my wife and me. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Thanks for the upgrade Jim! I missed not being able to access certain functions. Work is in chaos but each day I scan the horizon looking for my soul mate - that black coupe in perfect condition with the light interior. In the mean time, I have the forum to hang out and learn on.
