I am trying again to make a post. This is labor intensive for me since I have limited key-boarding skills and am not computer savy. Have tried before but guess I am doing something wrong in terms of sequence, button pushing or menu selection. I have viewed several times and have gathered good infomation. I am new [July] to owning a 1997 XK8 convertable. Owned a 1976 XJ6 and loved it. Like the sport version better, more fun to drive. Has 60k on it and looks like new. Had to replace a leaky power steering pump and have replaced the secondary timing chain tensioners. They were in terrible shape. Would not have known to look at them except was alerted by reading this forum.

I live in Harrington Delaware and have only seen one XK8 around here and so I bought it. Hope someone in my area reads this so we can chat. Looking forward to some local responses but not optomistic since this a rural area with more tractors than sports cars.

So long as you're a "Jag-man" ...and it looks like you are...we don't care about your computer savvy-ness!

Cheers and welcome aboard,
DD

Welcome to the forum,

Well you got the post done, it only gets easier from here.
I've taken the liberty of removiong your 'phone number, there are a lot of dodgy characters on the interweb, not Jag owners I'm sure but you never know.

Good catch on the tensioners, post up a pic when you get the chance, there are instructions in the advice section if you need help.

Welcome to the forum.

As per Doug, you don't have to be a computer nut around here.

Left click on a few of the links in my signature, they will help you get started.

Congrat's on the XK.
