XK8 owner - newbie
Hey All,
From Northeastern North Carolina. My very first non-Ford vehicle is the most beautiful car that's ever been on the road - a 2000 XK8 ragtop, carnival red and cashmere.
I'd post some pics but can't figure out how
Looking forward to all the good info and thanks for letting me in

I think us "new" members have to have 10 posts under our belt. It took me a few days to finally read the "Sticky" up top. I guess that what happens to us "C" students. :-) I put what the sticky says below...
There is an undisclosed "qualifying period" that each newly registered member must complete prior to allowing access to the member photo gallery, configuring your 'garage', starting a classified ads, viewing images, accessing server-hosted links, or sending a Personal Message to another member via our forum comm systems. The qualifying period is a spam-reducing effort that has been extremely successful, and will only be waived/terminated early in a thread that deals with the issue in the Forum Help section. Our admin can manually adjust your account to bypass the mandatory period. This 'period' includes a preset number of days (3) that you must be active, and a minimum post count of ten (10). Once these are surpassed, the magic happens and you'll have full access. I assure you, the time and post count is trivial to a genuine new member, but extremely effective against spammers.
Oh sweet...post #2 for me. Getting closer. Ha!

Welcome both you newbies, have a short conversation here amongst yourselves and you'll be at the magic post count in no time. I do like the way you new members stick together. Buddy system and all that...
Welcome to the board Clark.
Answer this question and you will get another post under your belt.
What colour tyres best suite an XK8?

Hello there...
I'm Jeff - more importantly, owner of/slave to my 2000 xk8, which I love, but which sometimes spurns my affections...
What else can I say - you all know how much brighter the world seems when you're behind the wheel of one of these and so, despite myself, I'm also thinking of getting a 2006, while they still come certified...

Hey nemair, we've got PLENTY of NY members on the forums, seen several myself in the xk8-xkr area. Go check out the Regional section of the forum, you might have a choice or two already recommended there. Good luck!
Hey Nemair,
New member too here. I'm from the Island. Been using Huntington Jaguar for service. They are pricey but I guess that comes with the car! I've had a lot of work done in 3 years, a lot was picked up on the warranty I bought when I got the car (although they only cover $80/hr labor, I guess that's the pricing in some parts of the country). These guys appear to do solid work, though I resent paying any mechanic at the rate of a CEO!
Enjoy your car, I love driving mine in the spring and summer out to the north fork and Hamptons areas. Everyone loves the look of this car with the top down, even those who don't own one.

Then your record is unblemished because Ford owned Jaguar in 2000.Yes, yes it is.
Welcome Clark!
I'm also a new memeber and likewise have a 2000 XK8 which is my first Jaguar but likely not my last if a new XKE happens my way. Anyway, welcome and I'm sure we'll be sharing headaches & successes.
Cheers,
Jorge

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.
Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Hello Namair, I'm on LI also. Did you ever find a mechanic? I just put a deposit on my wife's new car last night. Picking it up today.
So, still looking...
Thanks, Eagle21 - that's a favorite drive of mine, as well! And I love the comments I get when I'm out there also...
