New Alloys for the A6
What do you reckon guys......
I will be need ing 2 new front tyres very soon 225 x 50 x R17 and would be going for Pirellis or maybe Continentals. For 2 new I'd be looking at around £300, If I shopped around I reckon I could get that figure down to approx £240 fitted, maybe.
Anyways....I've been thinkin about another set of alloys for some time and saw these on Ebay, watched them for 4 days and bought them today.
£435 all in incl delivery for 4 brand new 5 spoke Genuine Audi alloys c/w brande new tyres on them ( continentals).......jeeeesh, the tyres alone woulda cost me more for 4
17"-genuine-audi-alloys
Thoughts?

RE: New Alloys for the A6
true ken, true.
I got my new alloys today and fitted them straight away
Took the 16 spokes off and thoroughlt cleaned them prior to storage and then fiited the new 5 spokes c/w new continental rubber
I cleaned down all the wheel wells and calipers, hubs etc prior to fitting............Jeez they look great on the car. 18's mighta looked a little better though[&:]....lol
Maybe a set of lowering springs is in order?
Pics to follow next time she's clean and time allowing....hopefully soon

They look good. I thought they looked better not mounted on the car, perhaps a more set-up picture on the country side would help! Too bad they weren't 18's but for the cost of tires who can complain? The better the deal the better! I paid 650 for my wheel/tire combo!

Aquill.......funnily enough I was considering 18's. Also thinkin about lowerin her slightly too!
H20boy...conservative for a guy like me??? I know what you mean though, fairly stock lookin but I'm quite happy with that look

I say drop it and go from there! That should improve the look! You could also paint the calipers red/yellow or something add a little sizzle to the mix! I already know what you'll say to that!
Whats up h20?
HAHAHA! You just posted before me! dropping her would add to the look of the rims for sure! No need for 18's in that case! One last thing I just noticed (going on my 3rd edit of one post) is that the 50 series tires make the rim look smaller. The 45 series would look better and would be the same size as the x-type has stock with 17's (but new tires wouldn't be in the cards when you bought the rim/tire combo for tire replacement.)

RE: New Alloys for the A6
I have already painted the calipers Aquill.....silver. I painted the inner hubs as well to match and it looks clean.
No red / yellow etc for this car Aquill.......Its a classy executive saloon and it just wouldn't look right.
I know what you mean about the rim size though as that did cross my mind too, same scenario with the tyre sizes too. If i went with 45 series I'd deffo need to get it lowered first.
Cheers Aquill
