Although this might be a belated reply to your post.....yes, I am a Jag owner also living in LOS (Khon Kaen). Mine is a 1985 Series III XJ6, all original.

When I was looking for a car to buy, I found that the majority here have had the original engine replaced with Toyota unit. Sad. If you look at cars advertised for sale locally, say on Kaidee or One2Car, any that still have the original running gear are valued considerably higher. It took me about a year to get my car sorted out, having bought it as a non-runner....it had been off the road for about 5 years according to the vendor.
