2002 Jaguar X Type 2.5
I purchased this car 5 years ago for $3000. Mileage was 130,000 at that time. Had to have a lot of work done as my mechanic didn't do a good job of looking over. My fault! In May, 2021 had $3800 of work done.Changed oil, front brake reline with new pads and rollers, brake flush, replaced front struts and strut mounts, replaced rear shock absorbers, replaced loose rear sway bar center bushings and other small misc items. Cost $3900.. car ran great! On 6/27/21, car would not crank, nor start. Nothing! Had the battery test, along with terminals and fuses. All fine. We tried to crank again after, and it cranked, but check engine light came on. Car ran for about 4-5 short drives. I took to Auto parts store(O'Reilly's) to have code run. Came back as Throttle Positioning Sensor. Drove home. Turned off, tried to start, again no crank/no start! Had towed to shop. They advised codes indicate cluster failure P1638, CAN, 2 sensor codes P0057, P1647 02 control 2/1. Estimate $4,500. Any suggestions or comments, much appreciated. Question, do you think it is worth fixing or just sell or Part out? So frustrated! I really truly loved my little Jaguar. Thank you
