There's an old saying about auto shows. If you want your average car to stand out? Make it sparkle. And if you want your crazy exotic to stand out? Leave it dirty. That's the approach Jag took at the 1990 Chicago Auto Show, and just like the writer on the HP, I think it was a magnificent choice. Of course, it's not ordinary road grime or bird droppings we're talking about here, but the dirt the XJR-12D accumulated while wining the 24 Hours of Daytona. I know the "**** flaps" are functional, but I don't generally like it when the wheels are covered up — on any car.
