Yes ~ Bentonite greases are bentonite clay thickened for kiln door hinges etc that are extremely hot. They have a buttery texture.

I have something for you from our product guide. I need to scan from a stubborn book with a stiff spine.

I've buggered up the book but tough.

Right click & Open With Microsoft Office which will allow you to expand/blow up (Actually the forum has expanded them already). Both Calcium Complex, I have debranded. No Star Logo. I did not require MS Paint's eraser facility. I just cropped the top of the numbered pages.

For customers that want a 00 we will make it for them. This is just the standard generic we make. We know how to make 0's & 00's that won't bleed oil but that information is proprietary.

It would be interesting to try that, it sounds like the clay would make a good solid between the spring coils.

Once again you are going to have trouble getting Bentonite Greases in small packaging. It's an HD Industrial product. We make it. Quite frankly at ambient temperatures I see little benefit. It's beige in color unless dyed.

Yes, calcium complex NLGI 0 would be the one, but no one makes it in a small containers.

I did find Klondike Lithium Complex NLGI 0 in a 379g tube.

Lubriplate sells it in a 1kg tub.
The retailers list it's shelf life as 10 years ?

Oh! good. You can try it but as I say I see little benefit at Ambient Temperatures but you never know. We are trying products that are being used in an application that they were not purpose formulated/designed for.

As for 10 years. Maybe their product loses it's oil & dries out in that time. I'm not going into NOACK volatility values of oil here. I could write a long paper on the subject. Our sealed bearing products are for life.

It's like f---ng Thorens turntables. We produced a special turbine oil for them & to this day they have it printed in their owner's manual. We are not interested in packing it in little dropper bottles. Fortunately we have someone that is prepared to do the packaging for us. Same applies to Linn LP12 turntables. Their turbine oil requires a small % of Moly due to spindle tip pressure..

In fairness you are selling 5ml of oil for a fortune. The dropper bottle costs more than it's contents.

Time to go back to bed, I very often wake up at night with a growly stomach and have to eat to get back to sleep.

Thanks again Glyn.

Sleep well!

Klondike Lithium Complex NLGI 0 is worth a try with Moly added.

Park Bicycle is a Polyurea grease that doesn't look so thick, but there is not NLGI listing.
When I asked I got this mindless answer; We do not know the NLGI number at this time.
Obviously it's made for them by some manufacturer and that answer is from some guy who works in public relations who knows nothing and can't be bothered to find out.

PPL-2 PolyLube 1000™ Lubricant (Tub) | Park Tool

And their Data sheet, but it doesn't say their either.

https://www.parktool.com/assets/doc/..._PPL-2_SDS.pdf

EDIT:
I think it's just an NLGI 1, anything thinner then that would not be a good choice for bicycle bearings.

The info is about as much use as t!ts on a bull.

Offerings could be an NLGI 1 & a 2

I tried to order the products from Lubriplate, but they would not split up a case, even though they give a price for just one pail.
However they did list some in open stock, so I went with that, still going to cost 35 bucks to ship though.
I asked the sales rep, why it's listed as an individual price, and he said, "the web site is just screwed up".

The Klondike product in the tube is becoming a PITA, I found one vendor down East that sells the tubes for only 9 bucks, so I ordered two, but then they want 50 bucks to ship, so I cancelled that.

I have the Klondike rep looking around for a bought open case here on the West Coast.

You may say "tit's" if you want, it won't bother me, you may swear all you want too, I say F-u-c-k all the time.
I don't care any more if there are kids reading this, I'm been through so much in my life to worry about little Timmy finding a dirty word.
