Default 1975 XJ6 Coupe Window part needed

Does anyone have quantity two of BD.42190? It is the inner door seal for the coupe. Down to my last needed parts to finish my project.

Thanks, Bill

What part is it? Do you have an pict of the old one? I'm an experienced coupe restorer and I'm not familiar with that part number. I'm sure I know the part though. Do you mean BD44190? The inner glass / wipe / seal?

I'm somewhat confused, but maybe not. Yes, it's the inner glass/wipe/seal, but I have the 2 door coupe. And if I'm not mistaken, the PN you are referring to is for the Vanden Plas model which I think is a four door. and BD44190 is actually the metal strip the wipe/seal is slid into. And is the left side of the car. It's wipe is the BD44712. And I'm sure it's shorter in length than the one I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a 2-door Coupe seal/wipe which is the BD42190 (on panel 2J 06L in my parts Catalogue "XJ6 Series 2 Daimler, Sovereign Series 2").

Your thoughts?

Correct part number not with standing, that inner window wipe seal is not available as far as I know. I've been fortunate... the coupes I have restored have serviceable pieces but they are in a sorry state inconsistent with the rest of the car.

I've been looking for years here in the USA and I've searched across the pond as well. Nothing.

See below, I've been considering flatting out the channel and using one of these. I've used similar peel and stick to double seal the coupe's doors and it stays fine but a window wipe may be diffrent forces. So... a thin metal strip riveted to form a sandwich might be necessary. BTW...The double seal makes a very noticable difference in the reduction of road noise.

NICE! Not sure what you are referring to as "double seal" but I certainly see possibilities with the Steele Rubber Products. 704 area code seems to be North Carolina. Thanks for the tip. I will definitely do something with their products. If you have pics, please send. ONce I'm done, I'll post pics also.

I've just come across this post, and after reading, went out to look at my 77 parts coupe. If I understand the posts, I believe I have good ones - I would be interested in their value and will accept serious offers. ( would like to see some pictures )
Thanks, Jim
