FS[Western US]: 1997 XK8 Convert Parting Out Parts
The wheels in the picture have been sold, but I do have 2 other sets I would sell:
1) 17" Lamina style- open 5 spoke style-as used on 2000 and up XK8. The wheels are good, tires are holding air but worn out- $500
2) 18" XJR Asteroid with 255-40-18 tires. Good condition, mounted and balanced and perfect to bolt on and go. Tires are all 50-70% tread. Looking for $1000 on those. They are a perfect fit for XK8/R's
3) I actually do have one of the original XK8 17" revolver wheels (like in the pic)- in reasonably good shape- no tire- $100
If interested, send me a PM with your Email address and I can shoot you some pics.
Thanks

You said the computer died... do you have the rest of the control modules AND the VCATS sticker from the trunk? My computer is dead and NO VCATS sticker... I have been told I can take a complete set from another car and the VCATS sticker (so i know complete part numbers) and put them in my car... whats wrong with the computer.. sometime they can be rebuilt...
They are different- the 97's do not have the transponder key, so the way the starter system is laid out is different (no transponder module signaling the BCM that it is ok to turn over the engine. Not sure how any of my parts would be of help to you.
Why don't you just send your ECM out to be rebuilt? When they do that, the programming isn't disturbed, so it should work right out of the box.... That sounds like all you need. I think the rebuilds are $400-$500 and they do an incoming check first to see if there actually is something wrong with unit...

Here is one thing you can do. The car itself (or more specifically, the body control module- BCM) is synced to the ECM. Without any programming, the car should recognize only the correct ECM. Any other unit that you install in the car and switch on will lead to a "wrong part fitted" error message on the dash. With the original ECM, that should not happen, even if it has some internal running faults. Give that a try- you may be able to isolate the correct unit (even if it is bad) and then send it off to be rebuilt.
Your other option is to buy a good used one of the correct part number and have it reprogrammed to match the car. The dealer can tell you what the correct part number is- then it's just a matter of finding one. There is a shop I know in Jacksonville that can do it, and I'll bet one even closer to you can as well...
I actually may have a good used 98 ECM here from my other XK8 (engine tossed the chains and was trashed- ECM is ok). Send me a PM and I'll get the part number on it for you.

Hi,
Do you have the headlight access opening cover for the left inner fender arch?
How about the air scoop/shield for the alternator?
How about the trunk floor liner?
Trunk front wall liner?
Clips, (maybe 3 or so), that attach the door panel to the door by the top of the door panel?
Thanks.
Charlie

I have a nice set of fender badges, left and right, in green for $75. They are both in great shape.
These are selling on Ebay for $55-$75 each (!!!). Basically I am asking half price of new.
Sorry, no headlight washer pieces or window switches.
The badge price is firm- it's a good deal...
If you need anything else, let me know
