Silver 1998 Jaguar XJR for sale

123K miles on the clock.
Service history to 90K miles.

I bought it in December of eBay and have driven it around 1K miles and loved it, however it broke down on the way to Brighton.

The garage it's with have said the Cam Chain has snapped and have quoted £3,500 to fix. So I'm selling the car as is. The car does not start, so would suit someone who wants to take the car away and fix or potentially break up. I've not got a driveway, so have no plans on having the car delivered back home.

The car is currently in the Burgess Hill area.

A couple of weeks before the breakdown, all the tyres were replaced with new ones.

Other issues with the car are:

• Sagging interior roof (currently pinned up)
• Chip in the windscreen
• Driver side door seal ragged
• Read door, driver side, doesn't always lock with the central locking
• It has only one key

Tax has run out, but is still has MOT.

 

how much are you looking for the car?
i have a XJ8 4.0 which i am breaking, but i may be interested in putting my engine in your car?

Ideally around £400 but I'm up for offers.

 

Is the shell in good condition e.g. front of sill area, behind coil spring on inner wing, rear of sill in fron tof rear wheel and along floor to sill area? this is whats wrong with my current shell so i wouldn't want to do any welding at all.
Maybe you can post pictures up if possible?
Whereabouts roughly in London as i live up near Dumfries, just would like to gauge distance of travel to see if it would be worth picking up and transporting back.

I've no idea I'm afraid...

The car broke down in February and has been at the garage ever since. The car is currently in Burgess Hill which is just outside Brighton. I've not seen it since, so I don't have any photos I'm afraid.
