FS[SouthEast]: 2004 x type 2.5 5 speed $1500
Hey guys,
I picked up a 2004 x type 2.5 with a 5 speed transmission. Here is the background of the car:
I bought it from a guy who is a steam turbine mechanic. Water pump went bad on car and one of the head gaskets blew. The guy dropped the motor and did both head gaskets as well as the water pump and a few hoses. He also replaced the timing chain tensioners. When he put the motor back in it would not start. The guy was keeping the car at his mother's house, and when she sold the house he had no place to store or work on the car. as such he sold it to me. I had the car towed to a local Jaguar guy. His assessment is that the car is slightly out of tune. Not enough to cause damage, but enough to prevent it from firing. All of the cylinders have about 35 psi of compression, indicating (according to him) that this is due to valves not being fully seated during compression stroke as a result of timing issue.
Car is clean. Dark gray with black leather. one rip in driver side seat. other than that, the car is pretty nice. When he bought the car, ac, and other systems were operating. Paint is nice.
Basically, someone with the knowledge and the time to fix the timing, will end up with a pretty nice ride for $1500. Clean title. Located in Florida. IF people are interested, they can email me at Darcemanx@gmail.com
thanks,
Dennis
