Beloved Is For Sale-05 XJR
My 05 XJR is for sale and I wanted you guys on the forum to have 1st refusal.
It's a nearly perfect by God 5 footer Fl car, whisper quiet. meticulously maintained- cost no object, always garaged, metallic slate grey paint, black interior, $1400 in new tires. Every last thing works well and it will do 27+ mpg which I mention only to describe it's state of tune. 65,000 old guy Florada miles.
PS: 1st $19,000 gets it. "Firm" You won't find a better one and it's priced to sell..

Okay, I take it all back. My lust for an XK is diminished and "beloved" 05 XJR is not for sale.
I have been out and about test driving XKs and I have concluded that the refinement of the XJs overpowers the raw sex appeal of the XK. Purely a personal and subjective conclusion to be sure.
Could I afford it, I would have 1 of each but my real world needs are best met by the XJ vehicles.

The only XK that appeals to me is the 07 or better. There is something awkward about earlier cars. OMG! I've stepped in it again haven't I?

Funny as I think the bulbous butt of the 05-6 Ks still looks better than the new K's angles and 'flame' creases and squinky, pinchy Taurus mouth...and my neighbor at work is lamenting the day she bought her 07 K for repairs but then she should have bought Japanese.
The 2006 XKR coupe in silver is the nicest XK of them all, in my opinion, aesthetically. I've seen several of these and they are idyllic. The newer ones do not get it for me looks wise, although I'm not real fond of the older cars' interiors.
Tarheal, I agree with your final assessment. Our XJR's are the ultimate. Two caveats for coupes, however, would be a 1995 928 GTS with a manual trans., or the Bimmer 850 cs or better yet csi. Those two would be hard to say no to.

Can't spite you for that. I have 4 kids between ages 2 and 11, so as you can see, a coupe would be impractical now. But now that I have the XJR, I'll probably keep it "forever" and try to buy a small, light roadster at some point, like an M Powered Z3, or maybe even one of those monstrous little Maser Biturbos from the 80's!

Car came up on AutoTrader today. Hope a Forum dude gets it.
I put it up on AutoTrader 3 days ago. Lowest priced 05 XJR within 500 miles of me. Not 1 single call yet. WTF?
Yeah, I know. It only takes 1. Have any of you guys had any experience with web site sales?
