Jaguar V8 Conversion Kit - Chevy Big Block 454/T400 to XJ6/XJ12 - Also XJS
Good used group of professionally built conversion kit parts for big block Chevy (396-454) and Turbo 400 transmission into a 70-87 XJ6 (could also be used for XJS with some tweaking). These parts were made by Mundorf Engineering of California who was a big Jag conversion place in the 70's/80's/90's (their US Patent Number is stamped on the mounts). This was a $1500+ kit when new and was very popular back then- they sold hundreds of them.
All of the parts here were part of a running/driving conversion into a 73 XJ12 using a carbureted 454 and T400 trans. Recently, the car itself just got too tatty to keep up, so it was taken apart.
What is for sale here is the following:
1) Engine mounts; no drilling, cutting, or bashing the oil pan to get the engine in. They use standard GM front car rubber engine mounts The flat silver plates you see in the pics are used, if needed, to get additional clearance between the oil pan and steering rack. These are very strong, light, and well engineered mounts.
2) Transmission mount- a combination of specially made parts and the original style Jaguar rear transmission mount spring for smooth running.
3) Shifter hookup: shift cable bracket (mounted to the transmission) shift cable extension, and special trans lever are included as well.( all needed to link the stock Jaguar shifter to the GM trans- no mods to the shifter itself)
4) Throttle cable assembly.(for linking the stock Jaguar gas pedal to a typical 4 barrel carburetor). No mods to the car required.
5) Cooling system:6) Driveline:
Custom built 1 piece balanced driveshaft with correct rear flange already installed on the rear. It is the correct length for the short wheelbase early cars (1970-1973 XJ6) and could be modified for the later long wheel base cars (1974-1987 XJ6) or XJS. No front yoke is included with this unit- that is a standard item your local driveline place can add that for you.
These parts are all you need to get the engine and trans in the car and mounted, proper cooling system, etc.,. The rest is easy.
Asking $300 for everything, plus actual shipping, whatever that is

- Custom built 4 row brass radiator (seems to be in good shape- coolant was green at disassembly)
- Fan shroud (matching size to the radiator)
- Upper radiator hose with inline filler neck
- Lower radiator hose
